‘The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul.’
– Robert Wyland
Here are a few benefits of spending time outside by the ocean:
The sound of waves creates a naturally meditative rhythm that activates the parasympathetic nervous system, slowing your heart rate, lowering your blood pressure, and relaxing the body.
The fresh ocean air is filled with negatively charged ions, which help balance levels of serotonin, a natural mood enhancer. That’s why you sleep better when you’re close to the sea.
Saltwater contains vital minerals such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, and iodine, which help to soothe tired muscles, replenish your skin, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Gazing out towards the endless horizon has a calming effect on the brain, as does the color blue, used in chromotherapy to promote feelings of peace and clear your mind. That’s why the ocean is a powerful setting for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
The sun’s rays stimulate the production of Vitamin D, essential for strong bones and healthy muscles. It also regulates serotonin, which is linked to your overall happiness and well-being.
Whether you’re taking a dip in the ocean or simply lounging next to it with a good book, the benefits of spending time by the water are endless. That’s why we built our open-air yoga studio right on the waterfront, so that the gentle ocean breeze, soft sunlight, and sound of waves could provide a calming backdrop for any yoga and meditation practice, enhancing focus, grounding, and mindfulness.
So, if you’re feeling stressed, tense, or just need a break from your routine, it’s time to pack your bags and head to the ocean.

Since day one, we’ve created and implemented different sustainability practices to reduce our footprint and promote conservation.
Here are a few examples:
We established a waste management system based on composting, recycling, and reducing single-use plastics wherever possible.
We provide all-natural and reef-safe bathroom amenities from local suppliers.
Our water refill stations throughout the resort encourage guests to bring refillable water bottles, reducing the need for single-use plastic bottles.
Through the creation of the Kubu Marine Park, we partner with the local community to protect and sustain the marine life around our village. As part of this project, we organize educational events, and beach and village clean-ups, to mitigate the impact of plastic waste in the oceans and on the beaches.
Reef restoration is also critical to ensure a sustainable future for our oceans, which is why we’ve created an artificial house reef spanning over 100 meters just off our shore. Made up of discarded man-made materials and reclaimed broken coral, it provides a natural habitat for marine life, is a fascinating dive site for our guests, and contributes to the biodiversity of the Kubu Marine Park.
